Florida A&M University (FAMU) proudly celebrates the induction of former Rattlers wide receiver Jacquay Nunnally into the Black College Football Hall of Fame (BCFHOF) Class of 2025. This prestigious honor recognizes Nunnally’s outstanding contributions to college football and his enduring legacy at FAMU.
A Record-Breaking Career at FAMU
From 1997 to 2000, Nunnally was a dominant force on the field, leaving an indelible mark on both FAMU and NCAA football history. He amassed 317 career receptions, ranking second all-time in NCAA Division I FCS history, and accumulated 4,239 receiving yards with 38 touchdowns. His consistent performance earned him four consecutive First-Team All-Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) selections.
Nunnally’s freshman year was particularly noteworthy; he set an NCAA record with 284 receiving yards in a single game against North Carolina A&T, earning him MEAC Rookie of the Year honors. He continued to excel throughout his collegiate career, leading the NCAA with 8.5 catches per game in 1998 and securing the Black College Football Player of the Year award twice, in 1998 and 2000.
Honoring a Rattler Legend
Already a member of the MEAC Hall of Fame and the FAMU Sports Hall of Fame, Nunnally’s induction into the BCFHOF further solidifies his status as one of the greatest receivers in college football history. His achievements have inspired countless athletes and continue to be a source of pride for the FAMU community.
